YAC Executive Services
Since April 2023, Gumala Aboriginal Corporation (GAC) has provided executive services for YAC.
GAC is one of the largest Indigenous management companies in Western Australia (WA). GAC provides administrative management services to a variety of Aboriginal groups in WA, including the Nyiyaparli, Banjima and Yinhawangka people of the Pilbara. GAC will now be responsible for handling all executive services for YAC that were previously provided by Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC).
GAC was created in 1996 to represent the collective interests of the Traditional Owners (the Banjima, Yinhawangka and Nyiyaparli peoples of the Pilbara region of Western Australia) following negotiations with Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto). As a result of these negotiations, the Yandi Land Use Agreement (YLUA) was signed on 1 March, 1997.
